The ESA Committee
The committee comprises of parents, friends of the school and members of staff. We are all volunteers. The committee is only as strong as its members and we are constantly looking for new members. We are an open, welcoming group of parents eager and committed to 'making a difference' for our children. The larger the committee the less onerous the task is for any one individual. Although we are all aware of "PTA burnout" which we all experience once our children move from primary to secondary school, the funding problems in education make it just as important that Edwinstree Middle School has a strong PTA to provide those extra facilities that the school needs. Your support, however, modest is therefore just as valuable and essential now.
The ESA provides help for events organised by the school such as productions and open evenings. We also support a great variety of fund raising activities from annual favourites like the Harvest and Christmas Fairs, to other more spontaneously planned social evenings such as Quiz Nights, Bingo, Film Nights and let not forget the regular school discos - always an absolute sell out with the children! The events raise funds to subsidise pupil educational visits and field trips, purchase valuable resources, and provide trophies and prizes for the school.
The head teacher attends all meetings as President of the ESA to give guidance to support the Chairman and Committee and to give advice on the use of the school and running of the various activities.
