The children were shown CGI images and discussed how these changes could help everyone cross the road more safely.  They also explored how car stopping distances work.  Discovering that a car travelling at 30mph takes much longer to stop than one at 20mph.
They acted out how a driver sees a hazard, the brain reacts, and the foot hits the brake.  It showed them why slower speeds near schools make such a difference.

To finish the workshop, our pupils got creative with a rock-painting activity.  They designed colourful rocks with road-safety themes.
Each one represented how they feel about staying safe on the roads.  Their designs were bright, thoughtful, and full of personality.
We’re really proud of how engaged and enthusiastic our pupils were throughout the session.

Thank you to Hertfordshire County Council for working with us.
We encourage all parents, carers and local residents to share their views by responding to the consultation.
